Intimacy and strangers
Intimacy is the feeling of connection between souls, it feels like shared space, shared emotion, shared witness. The performance at Stony Clove Creek for the Phoenicia Festival for the Arts took place in at a part of the stream that felt intimate, in that it was a cozy space that cradled our small group of the willing. The vibe was more fun and casual, less ceremonial until the body went into the water. Perhaps it was the lightness we needed after the wind carried the body-filled, protective cocoon down to the bank as a declaration that we were meant to perform right next to the water.
