Mourning Ritual at Stony Clove Creek

I’m honored to be invited to participate in the Phoenicia Festival of the Arts this weekend — a Hudson Valley village celebration of music, performance, and visual art in the Catskills.

On Saturday, August 30 at 3pm, I will lead a participatory Mourning Ritual at Stony Cove Creek, a meandering, rock-filled tributary of the Esopus. This performance grows from a river ritual rooted in tenderness, care, resilience, remembrance, and the cycles that bind us to the natural world, and to one another.

We will gather first at the gazebo at Main Street & Route 214, then proceed down to the creek. All are welcome to join in reflection, listening, and offering.
